Costello Law Firm Case Study
01
The challenge

A strong firm. A digital experience that hadn’t caught up

Costello Law Firm operates in a world where the stakes are rarely confined to a single legal question.

A government investigation can threaten a career. A business dispute can become a regulatory matter. An allegation can move across civil, criminal, and professional licensing proceedings, with consequences far beyond the courtroom.

The firm’s strength lies in understanding that complexity and bringing a coordinated perspective to it.

But its digital presence wasn’t communicating that distinction clearly enough.

The existing experience organized the firm’s capabilities largely around conventional practice-area categories. It described what the firm did, but struggled to communicate how the firm approached high-stakes situations, what made its perspective distinctive, or why that mattered to someone seeking representation.

There was also a second challenge, less visible to a website visitor but equally important to the work: the project needed a reliable path from strategic direction to execution.

The ambition was already there. So were strong foundations in the firm’s positioning, voice, and design thinking.

What was needed was the leadership to connect those pieces, resolve the remaining decisions, and deliver.

The assignment was not simply to redesign a website. It was to make the firm’s expertise easier to understand, its value easier to recognize, and the path forward easier to navigate.

03
The approach

Preserve what matters. Clarify what doesn’t. Build what comes next

The engagement required a particular kind of discipline.

Rather than restart the branding process, LG Studio established a focused direction: retain the strongest existing strategic and creative foundations, resolve the gaps that affected execution, and move decisively toward launch.

This created a practical framework for the work.

01
Read

Read the situation. Understand what had already been developed, where decisions remained unresolved, and which technical or operational dependencies could prevent launch.

02
Direct

Direct the experience. Translate the firm’s perspective into a coherent narrative, organizing the site around client circumstances, connected legal matters, attorney expertise, and a clear pathway to consultation.

03
Build

Build with intention. Bring the experience into production, resolve the technical integration requirements, coordinate legal and stakeholder review, and establish a functioning site the firm could own.

Throughout the process, the objective remained consistent: make progress without sacrificing accuracy, thoughtful design, or confidence in the final work.

04
The experience

Serious matters demand broad experience

The resulting website gives the firm a clearer, more cohesive presence.

A restrained editorial visual system communicates authority without relying on the familiar visual clichés of legal marketing.

Warm ivory surfaces, dark navy typography, carefully paced content, and muted orange details create a sense of composure.

The design doesn’t compete with the seriousness of the subject. It gives the firm’s expertise room to speak.

But the more important transformation sits underneath the visual language.

The experience moves from immediate relevance to deeper understanding:

STEP 01

Recognize the matter

Real-world legal circumstances create an approachable entry point.

From the homepage

Clients and their counsel call Costello for matters involving:

  1. 01 /A government investigationA subpoena, target letter, grand jury inquiry, investigator contact, or other indication that the government is seeking information.
  2. 02 /An agency or regulatory matterQuestions, notices, investigations, audits, or enforcement activity from a government agency or regulator.
  3. 03 /A professional license at riskA complaint, investigation, or proceeding that could affect a professional license, credentials, or ability to practice.
  4. 04 /A serious business disputeA claim involving a business, contract, employment relationship, intellectual property, or another significant commercial matter.
STEP 02

Understand the broader stakes

The site connects immediate proceedings to their potential implications for business, career, reputation, and livelihood.

STEP 05

Take the next step

A guided consultation experience provides a structured path to connect with the firm.

The result is not merely a collection of pages.

It’s a deliberate narrative about the firm’s value, delivered through the experience itself.

06
The outcome

From an unfinished transition to a functioning digital foundation

In October 2026, the new Costello Law Firm website launched.

The firm gained a standalone digital experience with a clearer narrative, a more purposeful presentation of its capabilities, and an integrated consultation pathway.

The project moved beyond a visual redesign into a functional foundation for communicating expertise, handling inquiries, and supporting future marketing activity.

  • Verified internal links and navigation
  • A working Clio Grow integration
  • A site independent of the original review environment
  • A foundation for the firm’s referral communications, connecting its digital presence with attorney outreach and relationship development
On measurement

Longer-term business performance will require measurement over time. The immediate achievement was making the strategy tangible, operational, and ready to serve the firm.

07
The opportunity
The next chapter / Emerging opportunity

A foundation built for what comes next.

Launching the website answered an immediate need. It also created the conditions for something larger: a connected marketing system that could extend the firm's expertise into the audiences, professional relationships, and channels that matter most.

The opportunity is not to add marketing activity for its own sake. It is to make future work reinforce a shared direction, from a personal referral letter to a useful editorial insight, a targeted search experience, or a clearer path to consultation.

The strategic possibility

The website establishes the foundation. An integrated marketing program could put that foundation to work.

This is a forward-looking direction, not a statement of commissioned or completed work. The existing referral-letter scope remains distinct from any future integrated program, which would require its own priorities, approvals, and agreement.
